November 29 – December 16
Light up the holidays of less fortunate children and families with the Holiday Wishing Boxes.
Choose a Holiday Wishes ornament from the tree, located in Bellevue Square Center Court, and shop for a gift to fulfill that dream. Have unwrapped gifts brought back to the Center Court display and place in the appropriate boxes by December 16th in order for presents to be delivered in time for the holidays.
Gifts will be distributed to children and families by the following non-profit organizations: Bellevue LifeSpring, Eastside Baby Corner, Imagine Housing & Wellspring Family Services.
The mission of Bellevue LifeSpring is to foster stability and self-sufficiency for Bellevue’s children and their families through programs that feed, clothe and educate. Bellevue LifeSpring has been a longtime partner of The Bellevue Collection. The Kemper Freeman family supports our Thrift Shop, located in Bellevue Square, by only charging $1 per year in rent. Last year, Bellevue LifeSpring provided over 118,000 meals to children living in poverty. The organization also provides back-to-school clothing, educational scholarships and emergency services to the 3,600+ children and their families living in poverty in Bellevue. Eastside Baby Corner
Now in its 25th year of helping kids thrive, Eastside Baby Corner is an Issaquah-based nonprofit that collects community donations of children’s and maternity items and distributes them free of charge, through social service agencies, to families in need. They collaborate with virtually every organization helping families in our area. Case managers from partner agencies assess the needs of the family, request the items from EBC, and pick up and deliver them to the family. Serving a broad area in King County that extends to the Cascade foothills and from south of Renton into south Snohomish County, EBC serves as a diaper bank, a clothing bank, and a food source for hundreds of kids each week. Imagine Housing builds welcoming communities where everyone has the chance to thrive. We provide permanent affordable housing on the Eastside for low-income individuals and families. We also offer residents individualized, on-site supportive services with an emphasis on long-term stability. We are continuing to lead the Eastside in developing new affordable homes, with a goal of doubling our housing offerings to 1,000 units by 2022. Learn more at www.imaginehousing.org.
Wellspring Family Services
Since 1892, Wellspring Family Services has helped children and families in crisis triumph over trauma. This year, Wellspring will serve more than 4,000 people in the areas of family homelessness, early learning, basic needs, mental health, and domestic violence intervention. All items we receive from the Holiday Wishing Tree will be part of Wellspring’s Holiday Toy Room – a program that provides new toys to 2,000 children during this upcoming holiday season.
